I know I haven't been kn this blog in... whoa.. 2years? since 2009. that's a long time, and I have no excuse. I guess I was just a little too ambitious. I thought blogging would be easy, but its not. Most of my blog action has been on my alternate blog Diary of A Gidi Girl but now I really want to try to kick my blogging habits up, full speed. So please forgive a sister and lets get it on...
If you have some topics you want me to discuss, email me or add it into the comment below.

Kenya here 'I'm trying to' come!!!!
I have this conference in Nairobi Kenya that I have been accepted to go to! Yay! It's teh ICUH... the international conference on urban health!
the problem is applying for conference scholarships from USA, I didnt get any because of course people think just because I'm in USA i am rich. I'm not...lol I'm a poor student in need of a travel award!!! I don't have fellowship funding so I have to go around and see if I can get funding from the grad school, international center, college of human medicine, etc. This should be interesting. Hopefully I get it and can go!!! I will stay prayerful for God to intervene!!!!
Lol i am taking donations for the send Angel to Kenya fund... lol!!!!
Ya I wish!
Anyway will keep you posted on what happens. If I all of a sudden post pics of Kenya you know it was all good!!!

Welcome to MissAdelaja's World
I’ve finally created a personal blog! It’s about time. But what better time to open a blog than when so much is happening in your life. I talk a little on www.GidiGirl.blogspot.com about the things going on in my life. Here, I will focus more on my endeavors. You can also follow me on Twitter @MissAdelaja .
Lets RECAP…..
Recently in the life of Miss Adelaja
Miss Nigeria in America (MNIA).
So I will be talking about my crazy decision to take part in the MNIA 2009 pageant. I tried the Miss Michigan USA pageant a few years ago. It was cool, but I wanted to enroll in this one because it had more of a focus on volunteering and empowering women. They made me Miss Abia. One Abia dude was like “WTH” but I just chalk his reaction up to ignorance. I think I can be Miss Abia in America. I have all my friends from Abia to help me out! Kwenu! The concept for those that are confused is to promote WAZOBIA aka One Naija. I hope that it really reaches a lot of people this year.
The MNIA crew also has us do community service and talk about it. From time to time, I will make YouTube video diaries about my experience. So stay tuned.
I also will have assignments each week. This week I have to write an essay in speech format about Abia State, its history and its richness. Email me or add a comment if you have any suggestions of things I should add. Maybe I will add video commentary on that too. I’m really feeling this video blogging thing!
School stuff
I am currently getting a PhD in Epidemiology. Very boring and dry to most people. It’s so cool to me. I hope to work with the WHO, CDC, or in Nigeria in the future.
I am officially ABD… All But Dissertation. So I’m soon to be Dr Miss Adelaja then give me some more time and we can double that Dr
International Conference on Urban Health
I’m so psyched! I just got a letter stating that my abstract was accepted for poster presentation at ICUH2009!!!! It’s in Kenya this year!!!!! I can’t wait! Guys School is cool! Multiple Degrees are sexy! And free trips because you worked hard to write a paper that helps society is crazy good!!!
Business
I’m tryna be the boss lady. Some stuff on the hush…. When it happens, you will see it, but for now, I have a link for some that might be interested. Competition for young africans in the diaspora to come up with innovative ideas for Africa. Have you heard of it? Any ideas? Here is the link

And anybody tryna work on a Nollywood Video, I have a script. Let get it!
Anyway until next time!!!!
